The Manitoba Liberals put forward a plan Thursday to improve access to emergency rooms by ridding the so-called problems involved with receiving proper care outside of regular working hours.
“$18 million in the first year of a Manitoba Liberal government will ensure that people who need help immediately will get help immediately,” said leader Jon Gerrard. “By ensuring access to urgent care treatment out of an emergency room setting, this will free up more care for emergency patients.”
Gerrard says Manitobans who fall ill after hours don’t have urgent care options and are forced to sit in hospital ERs, where they don’t receive proper care.
The Grits say they would improve urgent and emergency health care, and significantly reduce ER wait times.
