Bisons Prepared for Saskatchewan’s Strong Defence

September 15, 2011 8:23 AM | Sports

After a season-opening loss to Calgary on September 3 and a redemption win on the road against Alberta the following week, the University of Manitoba Bisons football team will play their third game of the year during homecoming weekend on Saturday.

Watch:

The Bisons (1-1) will host the Saskatchewan Huskies (2-0) while looking for their first win of the season at home. The Huskies pounded Manitoba last season with an embarrassing 64-3 win, which set several Bison team records, including largest margin of loss.

Besides having two victories under their belt already, the Huskies also hold first place for scoring offence, averaging 35 points per game, while Manitoba is third at 26.

The Homecoming Game matchup will be part of a wider range of festivities planned on the U of M campus this weekend. Hot 103’s Ace Burpee will host a pre-game party at 11:30 a.m., while Winnipeg band Sons of York — featuring former Bison Jake Kennerd — will perform.

Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at University Stadium. (Shaw TV, 101.5 UMFM)
