The Manitoba Liberals committed Tuesday to have all communities throughout the province connected with broadband Internet access.
During a speech in front of business leaders from the Manitoba Chamber of Commerce, leader Jon Gerrard said broadband would be available to every corner of the province by 2015.
“The NDP refuses to make Manitoba competitive in today’s global economy,” Gerrard said. “Liberals believe that all Manitoba communities deserve to be competitive and access to broadband internet everywhere is crucial to the economic success of communities and the education of young people everywhere.”
Larger communities without access would be a top priority — part of the first year cost of $1.9 million.
