Teens Shown the Risks of Distracted Driving Today

September 21, 2011 7:58 AM | News

About 150 high school students will be shown the severity of distracted driving today as part of a “mock collision.”

Headingley RCMP are conducting the collision at 10 a.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Avenue.

The collision is meant to highlight the seriousness of distracted driving, namely using a cell phone while behind the wheel.

The students will be shown what can happen when you take your eyes off the road, even for a split second.
