Arts and Culture Business Sponsorship Program to Launch

September 26, 2011 7:00 AM | Entertainment

The Winnipeg Arts Council will launch ‘artsVest’ this morning — a matching incentive and training program designed to stimulate business sponsorship of arts and culture in the city.

The two-year program will provide workshops to local arts organizations, showing them how to secure partnerships with the private sector. Local cultural organizations will also be able to apply for $150,000 in matched incentive grants under the program. Organizations would be given six months to match the grant by partnering with local businesses.

A news conference to officially launch artsVest is set for 10 a.m. at the West End Cultural Centre.

Officials with the Winnipeg Arts Council, Business for the Arts, the Winnipeg Foundation and Assiniboine Credit Union will be in attendance, as will Mayor Sam Katz.
