As part of its ongoing work to better the lives of children in Kenya and Uganda, the Mondetta Charity Foundation has scored the hottest tickets in town as part of its latest fundraising initiative.
The Foundation — a leg of the popular Winnipeg-based Mondetta Clothing Company — will be auctioning off a pair of coveted Winnipeg Jets tickets to the home opener on October 9, plus tickets to the final regular season game.
Proceeds will be used for charitable operations, which include an orphanage in Kenya, a primary school in Uganda and their newest initiative, the 2012 Mondetta Charity Foundation Uganda Dental Clinic Mission, which aims to bring much needed dental care to children who would otherwise forever go without.
The auction went live Sunday on eBay Canada (view auction). The highest donor will have the opportunity to purchase the tickets at face value, to satisfy the CRA and Manitoba provincial law requirements that tickets are not sold above face value. Proceeds from the winning bid along with the amount for the actual tickets will be donated directly to the Mondetta Charity Foundation.
The tickets (Section 107, Row 6) are being auctioned with full Jets and MTS Centre approval, and will come with a watermarked letter to validate the sale from Jets chairman Mark Chipman.
The auction will close Wednesday, October 5.
