United Way will launch its 23rd season of its Koats for Kids program today at St. Vital Centre.
Staff and students from John G. Stewart Middle School will be on hand to unveil a special gift acknowledging the important role coat donations provide for kids in the community.
Koats for Kids ambassadors Laurie Mustard of the Winnipeg Sun, Kelly Parker and Dez Daniels from 99.9 BOB FM, and former CTV weather specialist Sylvia Kuzyk (remember her?) will also be there.
Winnipeggers are invited to donate new or gently used children’s winter outerwear to the mall’s centre court during regular business hours. Everyone who donates will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate from St. Vital Centre.
The official launch is set for 10:30 a.m.
Koats for Kids has collected and distributed more than 145,000 articles of clothing to Winnipeg children and families since 1989.
