The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre is preparing to present its production of “Grumpy Old Men: The Musical.”

From October 13 to November 5, the John Hirsch Mainstage will be home to the world premiere of the new musical, which New York producers plan to hopefully take to Broadway.

The play, based on the beloved film, takes place in Wabasha, where snow and ice dominate the landscape and ice fishing is a way of life. Aging arch-rivals John and Max — who are living in this frigid environment — spend their days trading insults, but soon discover that your worst enemy might turn out to be your best friend.

Tickets to “Grumpy Old Men: The Musical” range from $28.35 to $89.25 and are on sale through the MTC Box Office at (204) 942-6537 or MTC.mb.ca.
