Fire Evacuates Laura Secord School

Winnipeg’s Laura Secord School erupted into flames Wednesday afternoon in the city’s Wolseley area.

Staff and students were safely evacuated from the school at 960 Wolseley Avenue shortly after 1 p.m.

Winnipeg police warned motorists to avoid the area as fire crews worked to put out the blaze.

Parents are being asked to pick up their children from Robert A. Steen Community Centre at 980 Palmerston Avenue.

No word yet on what led to the fire.
