Looking for something to do this Thanksgiving weekend besides getting ready for Sunday’s Winnipeg Jets game?

Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre has planned three full days of family-friendly fun to keep you busy. And Environment Canada says the weather shouldn’t be all that bad either.

Young visitors will be able to take part in crafts from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. today by creating pinecone bird feeders (pinecones dipped in lard and rolled in seeds).

A special presentation from 1 to 3 p.m. will teach the basics about what to feed the marsh’s resident birds during the winter and what to avoid.

On Sunday and Monday, a 45-minute horse-drawn wagon ride will take you to lesser known areas of the marsh.

We only touched on a few of the many events planned, so download the complete schedule (PDF, 176 KB) for more details.
