The Winnipeg Goldeyes have been named the organization of the year for 2011 by the American Association.

League field managers and media personnel chose the Goldeyes as the top club this past weekend.

“It’s an honour to be selected by our peers for this award,” Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said. “It’s evident that opposing teams coming to Shaw Park acknowledge the hard work by our staff and the support the Goldeyes receive from the best fans in independent baseball.”

The Goldeyes have picked up this award before, being named organization of the year in 2003, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2009 while under the Northern League.
