Nine of the province’s top AAAA boys volleyball teams will compete beginning Thursday in the three-day St. Vital Invitational varsity boys volleyball tournament.
Dakota Collegiate, Glenlawn Collegiate, Collège Jeanne-Sauvé, and J.H.Bruns will play host to the tournament, which also includes the top AAA and AA teams.
As well, Marquette High School from Wisconsin will make the trip to Winnipeg, and are currently ranked first in their state rankings.
If it’s any indication of things to come, champions of the St. Vital Invitational often go on to become MHSAA champions.
Teams will compete Thursday and Friday in best-of-five matches, leading up the championship at Glenlawn on Saturday at 6 p.m.
The varsity girls tournament will be held next weekend.
