The Winnipeg Goldeyes on Wednesday retained playing rights to 18 players for the 2012 season.
While not yet signed to contracts, the Goldeyes have exercised their options on the following players:
Aaron Cook, Aaron Hartsock, Amos Ramon, Andrew Walker, Brian Myrow, Chad Benefield, Clayton Uyechi, Isaac Hess, Jamie Vermilyea, Jon Weber, Justin Justice, Kody Kaiser, Louis Ott, Luis Alen, Price Kendall, Ridge Carpenter, Wes Long and Zach Baldwin.
Chris Salamida and Ian Thomas played out their option during the 2011 season and are now free agents.
The Goldeyes released pitcher Luis Villarreal and outfielder Fehlandt Lentini and traded outfielder Justin Bass to the Gary SouthShore RailCats, as announced earlier this off-season.
