Local “food heroes” will be celebrated today for their work in the community by Food Matters Manitoba.
The 2011 Golden Carrot Awards will be handed out to those nominated in several categories, including urban, rural, northern, education, business, and media groups.
The awards will be given out between 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. in the Rotunda at the Manitoba Legislature in conjunction with World Food Day.
