A volunteer committee known as the Guardian Angels will celebrate their 20th anniversary on Tuesday night with a gala and fashion show.

The Angels are part of the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation and will put on the gala in support of fighting women’s cancer. The Angels, made up of both men and women, have raised more than $4 million in support for CancerCare Manitoba.

Special guest speaker Sherry Abbott will be part of the celebrations at the Winnipeg Convention Centre. Having survived cancer herself, Abbott is now executive director of the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Foundation, and founder of the Look Good Feel Better and Facing Cancer Together programs.

The fashion show will include 12 models, all of whom are cancer survivors who personify both inner and outer beauty in their fight against the disease.

A reception on the main floor of the Convention Centre will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the program starting at 7:30 p.m.  A light meal will be served, with the option to purchase drinks at a cash bar. Tickets are available by calling (204) 787-1800 or at CancerCareFdn.mb.ca.
