MADD Canada (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) will remember the victims of impaired driving today during a dedication ceremony at The Forks.
A memorial bench will be unveiled on the walkway behind the Variety Heritage Adventure Park at 1:30 p.m.
MADD Winnipeg Chapter president Doug Mowbray, MADD Winnipeg volunteers, victims of impaired driving, representatives from the Manitoba government, MPI, City of Winnipeg, Winnipeg Police Service, RCMP, and the MLCC will be on hand for the ceremony.
The dedication ceremony is not only a way of remembering those lost to impaired driving, but will work to raise public awareness within the community about the risks of drinking and driving.
