The 16th annual Boo at the Zoo gets underway tonight, and kids will want to bundle up, as temperatures will be sitting in the single digits.
New this year to the seasonal attraction at Assiniboine Park Zoo is a fictional animal known as “Icky,” who was recently discovered in a remote and isolated area of Manitoba’s vast boreal forest.
Contrary to what he make look like (right), Icky is actually very friendly, according to zoo staff.
He will be one of many characters thrilling the little ones today through October 30 at the Halloween-themed event.
Hours are Monday to Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Gates close at 8:30 p.m. nightly.
Tickets are available at all Canada Safeway stores or at the gate. Visitors can enter through the south gate off Roblin Boulevard this year.
