There will be a hint of pink on the field during today’s Winnipeg Blue Bomber game against the Montreal Alouettes.
While the two teams battle for first in the East Division, players and coaches will be wearing pink to raise awareness for breast cancer research. Pink merchandise will be available for fans to purchase at the Bomber Store, with 100% of the proceeds going to the Keeping Abreast Fund at the Health Sciences Centre Foundation. A similar initiative last year raised $17,000.
Halftime will feature a very special tribute to past Blue Bomber Cheer Teams with many alumni taking part in a routine on the field.
A select number of tickets remain in the temporary seating areas. Fans who purchase them from the Madison Square Safeway location on Ness Avenue will have $7.25 of their purchase go towards the 2012 Richard Harris Scholarship Fund.
Kickoff is 2 p.m. at Canad Inns Stadium.
