A 50-year-old Swan River man has been charged with impaired driving after a crash that left two women dead on Monday.
RCMP say the single-vehicle accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. on Highway 10 near the junction of PR 279 north of Swan River.
The 2002 Pontiac Grand Am was travelling northbound at the time when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled.
A third passenger — a 25-year-old woman — was taken to hospital with undetermined injuries, as was the driver.
The deceased, aged 21 and 23, are from the Swan River area. Their names aren’t being released.
Police say alcohol and seat belt use are considered factors in the crash.
