Mike Keane Returning for Celebrity Hockey Classic

The second annual Mike Keane Celebrity Hockey Classic will take place Thursday, November 10 at the MTS IcePlex.

Keane, the former captain of the Manitoba Moose, is spearheading the initiative which will support the Winnipeg Jets True North Foundation and Continuity Care.

The tournament kicks off with “A Draft Day Experience,” on Wednesday, November 9. Each team will draft an NHL player, with the drafts based on total dollars raised by team team.

Eighteen teams will play three games each on the 10th after getting to know their celebrity teammate. The public can watch the tournament for $10 per person.

Players include Mike Keane, Dale Hawerchuk, Steve Shutt, Lanny McDonald, Marcel Dionne, Brad Park, Brian Trottier, Billy Smith, Thomas Steen, Keith Tkachuk, Dave Ellett, Charlie Simmer, Brian Bellows, Dean Kennedy, Dave Babych, Dave Manson, Laurie Boschman, Brian Skrudland and Rod Black.
