Winnipeg’s first “hackerspace” will open in the Exchange District today, meant to allow members of the community to work on tech projects, give or attend classes.
SkullSpace will also serve as a destination to network and allow the opportunity for members to learn from each other’s experiences. Despite the term “hacker,” members use their knowledge for good and are comprised of several technological backgrounds, such as computer programming and website design.
The 24/7 tech lab on the third floor of 125 Adelaide Street will open its doors at 1 p.m. A launch party will take place at 2:30 p.m. with a talk from SkullSpace president Ron Bowes.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased by e-mailing email@example.com or by calling (204) 960-4345.
An after party will follow at 6 p.m. at the King’s Head Pub and Eatery.
