The City of Winnipeg is making the process of registering for a Leisure Guide course easier after listening to public feedback.
Beginning on December 13 — the day registration opens for the Winter 2012 session — registration for swimming lessons will be accepted at 9 a.m. on this day only. On December 14, registration will open for all remaining programs at 9 a.m. Swimming lessons have been the program most parents were experiencing headaches over while trying to register their children for the fall session earlier this year.
During these two days, registration will not be accepted at Bonivital Pool or Margaret Grant Pool.
A new South-East Registration Centre will be set up at the Louis Riel Library conference room at 1168 Dakota Street to ease registration. Six service desks will accommodate those wishing to register in-person. The centre will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 13 and 14. Regular hours of operation will be in effect for the library during this time.
Registration can still be done by calling 311, in-person at designated locations, or by mail. For further details, visit Winnipeg.ca/leisureonline.
