Two elderly women were killed Friday afternoon after colliding with a gravel truck.
The crash happened at about 3 p.m. on Highway 12 and Clearspring Road in Steinbach. RCMP say the women were travelling northbound when they hit an eastbound gravel truck at the intersection.
Police say it’s believed the driver of the car went through a red light.
The 18-year-old man driving the truck did not suffer any injuries.
Alcohol is not considered a factor in the collision.
The victim’s names won’t be released.
