A single-vehicle rollover that killed a 32-year-old Waywayseecappo man is being blamed on alcohol and icy road conditions.

RCMP say the crash happened at about 12:50 a.m. on Wednesday in the community of Waywayseecappo First Nation. A 2008 Dodge Ram pickup truck was travelling southbound at the time when it lost control and overturned in a slough.

The passenger of the vehicle — also a 32-year-old man — was able to exit the truck safely. The driver of the truck was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The name of the victim hasn’t been released.
