Staff from Dufresne will lend their time at Winnipeg Harvest this afternoon, just as the organization announces a $10,000 donation to the food bank.

Dufresne’s $1 Million Charity Challenge is helping to fund 51 charities as part of the company’s year-long celebration of its 25th anniversary.

Dufresne is awarding $500,000 in grants, ranging from $5,000 to as much as $30,000 to various charities in Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.

“We feel fortunate that Dufresne‘s philanthropy extends to helping fight hunger and feeding hope”, said Winnipeg Harvest executive director David Northcott. “The $10,000 Winnipeg Harvest received from the Dufresne $1 Million Charity Challenge helps us distribute $200,000 in food to those who need it.”
