About 16,000 Manitoba students will come together at MTS Centre today to hear inspirational speakers, philanthropists and musicians as part of We Day.
The international event, spearheaded by Free the Children co-founders Craig and Marc Kielburger, will include former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore and former Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin, joined by bands Down With Webster, Hedley, and musicians Shawn Desman and Sierra Noble. Actress Mia Farrow, Ladybug Foundation founder Hannah Taylor and Paralympian Rick Hansen will also attend.
The festivities will celebrate youth making a difference in the world, and educate attendees about pressing social issues, how they can make a difference, and how to find their place within the movement to create global change.
The event will run from 9:45 a.m. to 2 p.m.
