An initiative between Winnipeg Harvest and Peak of the Market to collect fresh vegetables for the food bank is continuing to gain momentum.

Peak of the Market has pledged to donate 10 pounds of veggies for every view local magician Brian Glow’s Vanishing Vegetables video receives on YouTube. Since November 9, more than 43,000 views have been tallied.

In the video, the world-renowned illusionist performs several tricks in front of Peak of the Market president Larry McIntosh.

“That kind of magic can really grow on a person,” Winnipeg Harvest executive director David Northcott said. “I wish we could make food magically appear for everyone who is hungry.”

Up to half a million pounds of vegetables will be donated during the campaign.
