The smell of bacon will be permeating the air Wednesday as the first-ever Baconfest is held at the University of Winnipeg.
Without needing much explanation simply based on its appetizing title, Baconfest will highlight everything bacon-related, from prepared dishes, music and prizes.
A number of local restaurants will prepare unique meals to be served at the U of W’s Richardson College for the Environment and Science Complex, including Bistro 7 1/4, Cakeology, Jonnies Sticky Buns, Pizzeria Gusto, Segovia Tapas Bar & Restaurant, Chocolatier Constance Popp, and many more.
Tickets are $75 and are available at Elements — The Restaurant (599 Portage Avenue), Hot 103 103 (3-177 Lombard Avenue), Bistro 7 1/4 (725 Osborne Street) and Cakeology (85 Arthur Street). Cash or cheques made to United Way will be accepted.
All proceeds will be donated to the United Way of Winnipeg.
Baconfest will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
