It’s time to lighten up the holidays as the 12th annual Canad Inns Winter Wonderland opens for another season beginning Friday.

The extravagant light display at Red River Exhibition Park will take visitors on a 2.5 kilometre drive in the comfort of their own vehicles to see more than 29 different theme areas, featuring over one million lights.

The display will be open until January 7, 2012 (excluding Christmas Day) and operate from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly. Visitors can choose to get out of their vehicles and take in a skate , later warming up by purchasing a cup of hot chocolate. On Fridays, Saturday and Sundays, free sleigh rides will be available from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (weather permitting).

Tickets are $10 in advance per family vehicle at Co-op, Mac’s and Canad Inns locations, or $15 (up to seven passengers) at the gate.
