A Manitoba-based candle manufacturer will open its first retail outlet today at The Forks, just in time for the holiday season.
The Hartmont Candle Company will be located inside the Johnston Terminal, and specializes in handmade candles, lip balms and all natural soaps. Consumers may already be aware of the company’s creations, as they’re currently available at vendor locations across the country.
The Carman, Manitoba area business has been in operation since 1999 and began as Hartmont Farms, making jams, jellies and preserves in late summer. Candle making soon followed and the brand eventually evolved.
The official public grand opening celebration will begin at 10 a.m.
