Skating enthusiasts will get a chance to lace up at The Forks beginning this afternoon.
The Plaza Skating Rink is open for the season, and staff say the opening of the rest of Arctic Glacier Winter Park isn’t far behind.
“We’ve been working on The Plaza Skating Rink all week,” said Forks operation manager Kevaughn Glenday. “And with this nice cooler weather the rink should be in excellent condition for skaters this afternoon and we hope to have some of the trails open before the weekend.”
Skaters can warm up inside The Forks by sitting next to the fireplace behind the tower elevator during normal business hours. Floor mats also allow for skate changing.
Skates can be rented at Iceland Skate Rentals located adjacent to the skate changing area. Rates are $2.50 for children and seniors and only $4.50 for adults.
