Three Manitoba youth have made the shortlist of finalists in CAA’s Practise Safe Txt video contest.
The contest — aimed to promote the dangers of texting and driving — has received more than 16,000 votes from Canadians so far. The top 10 finalists will now be judged by a panel to choose the winner of the $3,000 grand prize.
The three top provincial entries include “Don’t Become Another Statistic” by Domenica Burroughs, “Car + Cell Phone” by Thomas Toles and “Is it worth it?” by Austin Grabish.
“To have three Manitoba teens in the top ten tells us that young people do care about making our roads safer, and they are committed to help spread the word that texting and driving don’t mix,” said CAA Manitoba spokesperson Liz Peters.
