New Year’s Concert Celebrates Hope, Peace

December 13, 2011 7:18 AM | Entertainment

A free concert on New Year’s Eve will have something for everyone to ring in 2012.

The concert for Hope and Peace at Westminster United Church will begin at 6 p.m. and include entertainment from children’s entertainer Fred Penner, Canadian champion juggler Robin Chestnut, acapella vocalists The Riffs, award-winning Prairie Voices Choir, and the incomparable Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra.

Winnipeg schoolchildren will share their personal reflections during the evening on what it means to live in Canada.

“Celebrating our life in Canada with friends, family and newcomers to Winnipeg is an unforgettable experience and an opportunity not to be missed,” said organizing committee chair Valerie McPherson.

Admission to the all ages concert is free, but tickets are required to ensure everyone can be accommodated. Tickets are available now at select Assiniboine Credit Union branches. For locations, visit HopeAndPeaceConcert.ca.
