A 2012 calendar featuring photographs of the many dedicated police service dogs in the city is now on sale.

Winnipeg police and the Winnipeg Police Association jointly launched the 2012 Winnipeg Police Canine Calendar on Friday, featuring snaps of the 12 pooches from the WPS canine unit.

Calendars are $15 and all proceeds will support the Winnipeg Humane Society. The public can purchase the calendars at all Petland locations, Winnipeg Police Service Centres, the Winnipeg Humane Society and Monart.

The canines are trained in tracking, criminal apprehension, obedience, evidence recovery, narcotic and explosive detection.
