The case of supposed “stolen” cattle has been solved, and it turns out they were never stolen in the first place.
On December 7, RCMP reported five cows and a calf were taken between November 7 and November 9 from a property in the RM of Hanover. On Monday, police said the animals were actually lost in a bush about 2.4 kilometres from the pasture. Three cows and the calf have been captured and returned to the pasture, while two cows remain elusive.
At the time, police said the cattle was valued at $5,000.
