If you’ve had enough of your Christmas tree by December 27, the city’s many “Let’s Chip In” recycling depots will open.
Until January 30, 2012, residents can drop off their real trees for recycling and help themselves to free wood chips (available in early January).
All trees must have tinsel, decorations, plastic bags, and tree stands removed before being recycled.
Depot locations and hours are available on the city’s website.
The depots at Assiniboine Park Zoo and Pan Am Pool are permanently closed, but if previous years are any indication, that won’t stop people from continuing to dump trees at those locations.
