January 3, 2012 6:32 AM | News

Two people have been charged in relation to a vehicle fire in Portage la Prairie over the holidays.

RCMP were called to Hazel Bay on December 29 at about 7:30 p.m., where a 2009 Dodge Caliber was engulfed in flames. Evidence at the scene took investigators to a nearby home where they arrested two individuals.

A 19-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy — both from Portage la Prairie — have been arrested and charged with arson, theft under $5,000 and mischief over $5,000.

Police continue to investigate.
