The Canadian Cancer Society has kicked off the new year by extending a series of tools and programs to bring people together and provide expert advice to cancer patients and their families.

Through technology, the charity hopes to help the more than one million Canadians who have already taken advantage of the tools.

“Technology allows us to make distances disappear and extend the caring support,” said Mark McDonald, executive director of Canadian Cancer Care Society’s Manitoba division. “The Cancer Society is known for providing reliable, expert information to Manitobans no matter where they live.”

The tools will allow those using the society’s services to access expert cancer advice no matter where they live, and helps Manitobans understand medical terms and conditions associated with cancer.
