Home Near Carberry Heavily Damaged by Fire

A home near Carberry, Manitoba suffered major damage after a fire broke out (photo) just before 9:30 a.m. Monday.

RCMP say a motorist travelling on Highway 1 spotted the blaze and called 911. Firefighters from both Carberry and Shilo responded to the home, located about eight kilometres west of Carberry in the RM of Cypress.

No one was in the home at the time of the fire and a damage estimate isn’t yet available.

RCMP and the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner are continuing to investigate.
