The Winnipeg Goldeyes have acquired right-handed pitcher Matthew Rusch from the Quebec Les Capitales in exchange for right-handed pitcher Chad Benefield.

Rusch comes from the Can-Am League and finished the 2011 season in the Boston Red Sox organization with the Double-A Portland SeaDogs. The 28-year-old New York native had a 5.06 ERA in four starts.

Benefield had a 3-6 record and 4.38 ERA out of the bullpen in 61 games before leaving Winnipeg.
