Locals Slim Down on ‘Fit First’ Reality Show

January 11, 2012 7:00 AM | Entertainment

The second season of a popular made-in-Winnipeg reality TV show will premiere in just under two weeks time.

“Fit First” tracks four Aboriginal individuals for six months, who share the same goal of changing their lives by losing weight and becoming healthy.

Six new half-hour episodes will be broadcast this season after a successful first year that saw four people lose weight, and improve their body, mind and spirit. Throughout the duration of the show, the participants will be working under the guidance of a fitness trainer and nutritional expert.

Four women — ranging from single mothers to grandmothers — will challenge themselves this season under the watchful eye of trainer Kent Brown, president of the Manitoba Amateur Boxing Association and a coach at the United Boxing Club.

About the participants:

Michele Henry, 45, married
Geri Von Ramin, 63, grandmother and great-grandmother
Elizabeth Denny, 38, single mother to one daughter
Krystal Beel, 23, mother of a four-year-old boy

The second season of the series will premiere January 24 at 7 p.m. CT on APTN.
