Two men have been rescued after the truck they were driving fell through the ice of Lake Winnipeg on Wednesday.
A 54-year-old man from Grand Point, Manitoba was located on Lake Winnipeg by a search team, while a 51-year-old man from Winnipeg walked to a nearby residence. Both are being given medical attention.
The pair were on their way to go fishing when the incident happened about three kilometres from shore on Beaconia Beach near Balsam Bay, according to RCMP.
Search and rescue crews worked to retrieve the men, along with officials from the Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner, Manitoba Conservation and the East Beaches Fire Department.
