Manitoba musicians will form a common bond beginning Thursday, January 26, when the Choose Your Charity weekly concert series kicks off.

Local artists will perform for charity in the newly-created concert series, set to launch at the Winnipeg Free Press News Café. Each artist will get their own Thursday showcase at the café, starting with JD Edwards, who will be playing for Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue. Other artists include Flo, Don Amero, and James Struthers, who spearheaded and is organizing the event.

Struthers will emcee and perform an opening set for each week’s highlighted performer:

February 2, 7 p.m. — Katie Murphy (charity: Beyond Borders ECPAT Canada)
February 9, 7 p.m. — Keri Latimer (charity: West Central Women’s Resource Centre)
February 16, 7 p.m. — Don Amero (charity: Agape Table)
