An individual identified as Ed Ackerman is taken into police custody after a roughly five-hour standoff at 436 Bannatyne Avenue on Tuesday, January 24, 2012. Ackerman's home was scheduled to be demolished when he retreated to his roof to halt the process. The 54-year-old allegedly began throwing objects at workers with Imrie Demolition, where a glass block is said to have hit one of the workers in the head. Fortunately, the worker wasn't injured and Ackerman was arrested by late afternoon. He has been charged with assault with a weapon and mischief under $5,000 for allegedly breaking a window in one of the construction crews' vehicles. (PHOTOS: SEAN LEDWICH / METRO WINNIPEG)
