Winnipeg police have launched the fourth phase of their Just Slow Down campaign, meant to show the risks and consequences speeding can have.
TV commercials started running Monday, which show an abbreviated version of the two-minute ad below.
Watch:
“We hope to encourage citizens of Winnipeg to embrace the Just Slow Down movement, because even those people who choose safe driving habits at all times can have their lives destroyed through the actions of others. It is in the best interest of all those who use our streets and roadways to embrace and support this important message,” police said in a news release.
The above ad was filmed in Lindenwoods last summer, where police closed a large intersection to stage the two-vehicle crash.
The speed reduction initiative was launched in February 2009 to reduce fatalities and injuries on Winnipeg streets.
