A 19-year-old man from Easterville was killed when he was hit by a pickup truck in Northern Manitoba on Saturday.

The accident happened at about 8:30 p.m. on PR 384, approximately one kilometre west of Moose Lake.

RCMP say a 2011 Ford pickup was travelling westbound at the time when it hit the pedestrian. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene. The 54-year-old Moose Lake man driving the pickup wasn’t injured.

Road conditions at the time of the crash were reported to be extremely slippery.

Speed and alcohol are not considered factors in the collision, and charges are not expected to be laid at this time.

Police are continuing to investigate.
