Early bird tickets for the 39th annual Winnipeg Folk Festival will go on sale February 14 at 10 a.m. The early bird deadline has been moved ahead by a month this year to April 30 after record-setting attendance in 2011.
The five-day festival opens July 4 and will run through July 8 this year.
“Tickets are selling quicker and quicker each year,” said artistic director Chris Frayer. “We don’t want to create a false sense of ticket availability with an early bird deadline of May 31.”
Organizers are capping daily festival attendance this year at 14,000.
A new RV vehicle ticket for the festival campground will be offered for 2012, ensuring patrons a spot for their RV before they drive out to the festival. The RV vehicle ticket is available for purchase through Ticketmaster and the Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store. Only one ticket is required per vehicle, and is not required for the Quiet Campground.
Ticket information and prices are available at WinnipegFolkFestival.ca.
