Manitoba high school students will present how they have increased their use of local ingredients in food by working with Manitoba farmers during an upcoming conference.
The fifth annual Growing Local Conference will be a three-day event from February 23-25 for anyone interested in learning about healthy, sustainable and fair food.
“These students are a great example of the amazing work going on in our province to support local farmers,” said Kreesta Doucette, director of Food Matters Manitoba, the organization behind the event. “We’re thrilled that they will be a part of the Growing Local conference to teach people about how easy it is to incorporate local ingredients into our daily meals.”
Youth presentations will take place at 2 p.m. on February at the Marlborough Hotel. For more information or to buy tickets to the Growing Local Conference, visit FoodMattersManitoba.ca or call (204) 943-0822.
