Louis Riel Day on Monday was a time for family, fun, and for many, another day at Festival du Voyageur. In fact, it was the festival’s busiest day of their 10-day run and more than 27,000 people were estimated to have made it through the gates over the last three days.
If you still haven’t made it down to Voyageur Park, ChrisD.ca’s Shannon Block shows you some of the many activities you can take in.

One of the big draws yesterday was the first ever Louis Riel Look-A-Like Contest. Several participants dressed up as Manitoba’s founding father for the competition, which was judged on costume, hairstyle, steely glare, props and attention to facial hair.
Jean-Marc Lafond was the big winner for his uncanny resemblance to Riel. Lafond works at the St. Boniface Historical Society and was motivated by his co-workers to enter the competition.
