Students from Oak Park High School have raised $1,000 to sponsor a luncheon at Siloam Mission this afternoon.

More than 60 students on the school’s Community Service Committee helped raise the funds over the Christmas season by selling pictures with Santa, popcorn and pizza during their lunch hour. Sixteen of the students will serve the city’s homeless at 12 p.m.

The fundraiser was part of the Sponsor A Meal Program developed by Siloam Mission, meant to make it easy for businesses, churches and schools to partner with the homeless shelter.
